LXC (Linux Containers) share the host kernel, which means near-native CPU and memory performance with lower overhead than full KVM virtualization. KVM runs a completely isolated virtual machine with its own kernel — ideal for Windows, BSD, or custom OS needs. LXC is the better choice for Linux workloads where raw performance and density matter.
Yes. SeattleNAP LXC containers are co-located inside the Westin Building Exchange alongside major financial networks. Direct SIX peering means sub-millisecond latency to Seattle-area exchanges and financial data providers. Many of our customers run algorithmic trading, market data feeds, and arbitrage bots from these containers.
Every LXC plan includes a generous monthly transfer allowance — 1 TB on entry-level plans, up to 8 TB on larger plans. All containers connect via a 1 Gbps uplink. If you need additional bandwidth, you can purchase add-ons from the client portal at any time. Inbound (ingress) traffic is unmetered.
